Why an inspection pays off.

First the uncomfortable numbers – then four real cases from my work.

Odometer fraud, hidden defects – or plain ignorance. Even big dealerships aren’t safe from it: often the seller knows nothing about the car beyond what’s in the file.

A warped flywheel that can cost you thousands? I feel it on the test drive – the seller can’t see it. And whether it’s fraud or ignorance: in the end, you pay the bill. No matter how shiny the showroom or how charming the salesman’s smile.

In the end only one thing matters: the technical condition of the car.
